Afionas is a village where the sea meets the sky.

Sometimes a place captivates you not because of its sights, but because of the way the air sounds there.
Afionas is one of these villages. It stands on a green hill above the Ionian Sea, overlooking two beaches at once: Agios Georgios and Arillas. But the main thing is not the panorama. The main thing is the peace.
When you walk along the narrow streets between the white houses and the blazing bougainvilleas, you are not "looking around." You are returning.
Ancient olive trees grow here, the scent of rosemary fills the air, and every turn leads to open skies. In the evening, the village becomes almost silent - just the cicadas and the wind.
Be sure to stay until sunset. The most beautiful views are from the taverna terraces – and even a simple lemon water there seems like an event.
If you want to reach Porto Timoni beach, start the descent from the village. This is one of the most picturesque routes in Corfu. You will need comfortable sandals and a little patience: the path is rocky, but each turn is like a postcard.
📍 Advice from me: Come not for an hour, but for half a day. Find a shop with homemade wine. Look into a gallery of hand-made ceramics. Or just sit on the step and listen to the silence speak.
With love, Lilia from Aegean Notebooks And let this day not be about the route, but about the feeling.
