— notes for a traveler with a light suitcase and a bright heart

Corfu Island greets you slowly - with a light wind, pine trees and the smell of salt. And if you are flying here for the first time, here is a short and convenient route: how to get from the airport to the port, or vice versa - and not lose a single moment of the Greek summer.

✈️ From the airport to the port - with a view of the city

The easiest way is the blue city bus number 15. It connects the airport with the port and goes through the city center, including Piazza San Rocco. Here you can change to other blue lines if you are heading to the old town, the beach or your hotel. If you stop at the end of the bus, you will get off right at the port, where ferries and cruises depart.

🕐 Buses run approximately every 30 minutes.

On foot - if you want to walk

The central "green" bus station is about a 20-minute walk from the airport. It's a pleasant walk, especially early in the morning or late afternoon. From there you can take intercity green buses to villages, resorts or beaches.

From the port to the airport - back the other way

The number 15 Corfu Town bus takes a different route back, marked in orange, via Corfu Open Market, San Rocco Square, the green bus station and then to the airport. The journey will take a little while, especially if you are travelling outside of rush hour.

Useful notes

  • Tickets can be bought from the driver , from machines or at the main station . Buying in advance is slightly cheaper.

  • Green buses (KTEL) are intercity buses. They do not go to the airport, but are ideal for traveling around the island.

  • Blue buses are city transport, they run more frequently and are closer.

  • Buses can be delayed in summer due to traffic, but they are a reliable way to travel around Corfu, especially if you want to do it without a car.

Advice from me

I always try to leave with a little extra time and... with a bottle of water and a notebook in my backpack. A bus window in Corfu is not just transport, it is a real journey. Slow, sunny, with oleanders and shady courtyards behind the glass.

With love, Lilia from Aegean Notebooks. May the road be easy - not only on the road, but also inside.
