Infusion for washing.

A morning that doesn't require cream

I don't always wash my face with water. Or rather, not with the tap water. Island water has its own character - it's not mean, but it can be too direct . Especially in the morning, when the skin is still asleep.

That's why I make infused water. Water that has the silence of herbs. And a little bit of meaning.

This is not a tonic. And not a decoction. This is a morning infusion , which can be used:

  • wash up

  • wipe your face with a cloth

  • Spray on skin if hot

  • or just inhale from your palms if everything is going too fast

What I add to the infusion:

  • 1 tsp dried mint

  • 1 tsp chamomile flowers

  • 1/2 tsp sage

  • 1-2 rose petals

  • (optional) 1 drop of laurel hydrolate - if the day promises to be active

How to cook:

  1. Pour 250 ml of hot (but not boiling) water

  2. Let it brew under the lid for 10 minutes.

  3. Cool down

  4. Strain

  5. Use within 24 hours (can be stored in the refrigerator and sprayed onto the skin from a spray bottle)

I don't apply cream right after. Sometimes I don't apply it at all. Because this water does everything it needs to.

It doesn't cleanse - it coaxes the skin to wake up.

Mornings don't have to be invigorating. They can just be gentle. Infusion is a way to take your time.
