Loutraki - where mineral water meets the Aegean.

Updated: Jun 27, 2025

Sometimes healing isn't about procedures. It's about just sitting by the water and stopping to rush . That's exactly the feeling I once had in Loutraki, a resort town on the Gulf of Corinth, just an hour from Athens.

What does it feel like in Loutraki:

– the air smells of eucalyptus and the sea– there are many elderly Greeks on the streets, just walking and breathing – as a reminder that this is also a treatment– you can not only drink the mineral water springs, but also take baths – right in the ancient thermal baths by the sea– this is not a sanatorium, but life at a slow pace – there is a beach with small pebbles nearby – and the sun, which does not press, but warms with respect

💦 If you want a warm touch of water, there is the Loutraki Thermal Spa . You can choose something simple: a bath, a Charcot shower, mud wraps. Or you can just come and swim, and drink a glass of local water right in the sun.

Sometimes the best doctor is a day when you have nothing to do.
