Morning with lavender

Updated: Jun 30

In the morning in Corfu the air smells not of the sun, but of water. As if the night has not yet gone away completely. I go out onto the terrace - barefoot. The stone is cold, and from this the body wakes up quickly. The shadows from the cypresses are long. The wind has not yet woken up. The silence rings.

I put water on the stove. I pour some dried lavender into a white cup - the one with the crack. Lavender is not for taste. It is to remember what peace smells like .

I don't open the notebook right away. First, I just hold the cup in my palms. And then I write: "I'm here. It's quiet inside me. Even if it's loud outside."

Morning lavender infusion

  • 1 teaspoon dried lavender flowers

  • 1 teaspoon lemon balm or linden

  • pour hot water (not boiling water)

  • leave to infuse for 5-7 minutes

  • drink slowly from your favorite cup

💬 You can add a drop of honey or a dried rose petal if the morning calls for softness.

Phrase for the notebook: "Silence does not have to be total. It can be physical."
