Gastronomic walk through the old town
Sometimes love for a place begins with a smell. With cinnamon in morning powder, with the light tartness of olive oil, with a slightly damp bun with tangerine jam. Corfu knows how to tell its story through taste – and it does so generously.
I went on this walk as if into a familiar dream: narrow streets, old shops, soft light on tiled tables. We were met by a guide - with soul, not according to the template. He showed us Corfu not with postcards, but with its "inner kitchen": home-grown spices, bakeries without signs, cheese factories where time has stopped.
We tasted, laughed, listened. Grape jam with nuts, soft cheese pies, loukoumades with lemon and cinnamon, coffee in an old courtyard. This was not just a tour - this was hospitality, which is rarely written about in guidebooks.
Tips from me: Wear comfortable shoes - the walk lasts about three hours.
Don't be afraid to try - all the ingredients are fresh and local.
Bring your camera, but most importantly, listen and feel.
Ask your guide for a list of places - many of them you can then visit on your own.
💫 This is a great way not only to discover the tastes of Corfu, but also to feel the rhythm of the island - unhurried, aromatic, lively.
