The root that holds the house up.

This is not just a tree. This is a tree that did not go away , even when everything changed. It did not leave, did not dry out, did not break. It became part of the wall.
Its trunk supports the corner of the house. And the house rests on the living.
Sometimes on the island I see scenes like this – not “beautiful” but simply very real . A root that holds up a roof. Moss that creeps up. A wall that ages next to a tree, not in spite of it.
📖 In my notebook I wrote: "Maybe not everything needs to be fixed. Maybe something can be left - to grow in what already exists."
