Legends Tskaltubo SPA & Resort 4 — Tskaltubo, Georgia*

Legends Tskaltubo SPA & Resort 4 — Tskaltubo, Georgia*

Why it's my favorite: This is the only fully restored sanatorium in Tskaltubo, a legendary resort with unique radon thermal waters (33–35°C, rich in radon and carbon dioxide). Here you can truly recuperate: the water helps with chronic musculoskeletal conditions, joints, nervous system, cardiovascular issues, gynecological problems, and even after surgery and stress. The atmosphere is like a step back in time: monumental 1950s architecture, marble staircases, colonnades, and a 16-hectare well-kept park with fountains and paths for relaxing strolls. The treatment rating is 9.6/10 – guests report improved sleep, reduced stress, and a general "reset" by the middle of the course. Ideal for those seeking deep wellness in a historic location, away from the crowds and with Georgian hospitality.

Sanatorium Restoration and Unique Features: The sanatorium was completely reconstructed from 2011 to 2017, transforming the abandoned building into a modern 4-star all-season spa resort while preserving Stalinist neoclassicism (high ceilings, spacious halls, marble). This is the only such facility in Tskaltubo—other sanatoriums are still in ruins or partially abandoned. What makes it unique is the flowing radon baths from Spring No. 6: the water is constantly refreshed (no stagnation), eliminating radon from the body within 2-3 hours, but producing powerful anti-inflammatory, analgesic, and immunomodulatory effects. It improves microcirculation, normalizes blood pressure, and promotes sleep. Legend has it that people arrived in wheelchairs and left walking. Plus, the all-inclusive package includes five meals a day, alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages, and entertainment (yoga, karaoke, discos, and a children's play area).

Key Features

16 hectares: park with fountains, paths, and benches for relaxing in nature

Balneotherapy Center: radon and mineral baths, underwater shower massage, full/partial massage, inhalations, ultrasound diagnostics

Pools: 25-meter outdoor pool with mineral water + thermal pool

Reviews (summary from 2025–2026): Overall rating 9.7/10 (treatment 9.6/10 based on reviews). Guests praise the historical beauty, park, treatments (improved well-being), food, and staff. Cons are rare: some rooms show signs of wear, and treatments need to be scheduled in advance.

Borjomi Palace Health & Spa Center 4 — Borjomi, Georgia*

Borjomi Palace Health & Spa Center 4 — Borjomi, Georgia*

Why it's my favorite: Borjomi Palace combines a historic 19th-century fortress with a modern spa featuring the legendary Borjomi mineral water (alkaline, carbonated, with a unique composition for digestion and detoxification). Here you can drink the water straight from the pump room (a 1 km walk or delivery 3 times a day), take baths, and enjoy treatments based on it for the stomach, endocrine system, metabolism, and overall recovery. The atmosphere is tranquil, with mountain views, clean air (900 meters above sea level), and Georgian hospitality. Rating 9.3/10 (treatment 9.0/10) – guests note the excellent food, treatments without lines, and a noticeable improvement in well-being after just one week. Ideal for those who want to combine treatment with relaxation in beautiful nature, without crowds and with a touch of luxury.

The sanatorium's restoration and uniqueness: The first building is a genuine fortress built in 1870, completely restored and renovated, preserving its historical appearance (marble staircases, high ceilings). The second and third buildings, built in 2015, are modern and comfortable, with elevators and barrier-free rooms. This is one of the few completely renovated facilities in Borjomi, a resort that suffered a decline after the Soviet era but has been revived thanks to investment. The uniqueness lies in the use of Borjomi water (from a local spring): it is delivered to the sanatorium or available in the pump room, and is used in drinking courses, baths, inhalations, and other treatments. The water helps with gastrointestinal tract disorders, endocrine disorders, metabolism, and related problems (heart, nerves, gynecology). Plus, an in-house balneological center, Roman baths, saunas, and a huge selection of treatments—more than 20 types using water, volcanic salts, and therapeutic mud.

A few downsides: the distance to the pump room (1 km), and sometimes spicy food (not suitable for all diets).
